CMRI - Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen

The Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen present themselves as a Traditional Catholic order complete with schools and seminary. They were started by Francis Schuckardt in 1967 under the approval of the Diocese of Boise, ID. With their roots in the scismatic group the "Old Catholics," they quickly degenerated into a Sedevacantist group. To appear legitimate they obtained invalid orders from the "The Old Catholic Church" There are volumes of information on them on the internet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congregation_of_Mary_Immaculate_Queen is a common example.

Needless to say, Their order is schismatic from its origin, tainted with scandal, and holds a number of heretical positions. Laity of good will avoid them as they are a danger to salvation.

The entire Francis Schuckardt story seems to revolve around fraud and scandal. Schuckardt convinced the Bishop of Boise ID that he was starting a legitimate religious order. No sooner was he set up than he showed his true nature and received priestly ordination and eventually episcopal consecration from Daniel Quilter Brown who was "consecrated bishop" in the schismatic and heretical sect known as the "Old Catholics." Brown had left the Old Catholics and was operating independently as a sedevacantis traditional catholic bishop.

Daniel Q Brown was "consecrated" by Hubert A Rogers along with co-consecrators James H Rogers and George T Koerner. These three men were from the North American band of the Old Roman Catholics. Review the section on this web site regarding the Old Catholics to learn that they are excommunicated schimatics akin to any other protestant sect and incapable of conferring Catholic Holy Orders.

The organization Schuckardt began grew to a significant size much like the protestant mega-churches. Putting on a good show, they attracted many disaffected Catholics and their money.  Sadly, the money and influence gave opportunity for Schuckardt to indulge in illicit narcotics and a certain perverted past-time. In 1984 he was exposed as a homosexual who had abused a number of young men in his school/seminary.

“He didn’t touch me, but he was definitely sexually abusing seminarians, usually at his private residence in Spokane, and he was also taking a lot of drugs. His immorality was scandalous, but I continued to regard him as my legitimate bishop." Mark A. Pivarunas  (The Smoke of Satan, by Michael Cuneo, Published by: Oxford University Press, 1997, p. 108).

Schuckardt was expelled from the order he created in sort of a treasonous coup led by his former partner and a young "priest" named Mark Pivarunas. Schuckardt faded into obscurity and reportedly claiming to be pope Hadrian VII prior to his death.
